Hacking the Ubuntu boot screen

Today I’ll take you through a simple procedure to change your purple boot splash screen in Ubuntu to some others available. Some geeky stuff; the boot screen in Ubuntu is called Plymouth. Now Linux Mint as you might know also uses Plymouth so this method should also work there:

1. First install plymouth themes:

2. To change the boot splash screen. Enter the following command it’ll then ask for a number choose accordingly:

3. Apply the changes:

4. Restart and enjoy 🙂
sudo reboot

You can repeat this procedure any number of times to set the desired boot screen.
